IP subnetting-what is the first useable host address?

Ok, for the first subnet you will use 192.168.1.32 as the network address. The subnet mask will be /27 or 255.255.255.224 . This leaves 192.168.1.33-.62 as the first usable subnet (if you take out subnet zero which is 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.15). This gives you 30 usable IPs when you remove the network address 192.168.1.32 and […]

Ok,

for the first subnet you will use 192.168.1.32 as the network address. The subnet mask will be /27 or 255.255.255.224 . This leaves 192.168.1.33-.62 as the first usable subnet (if you take out subnet zero which is 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.15). This gives you 30 usable IPs when you remove the network address 192.168.1.32 and the broadcast address 192.168.1.63 which will cover your requirement of 20 hosts.

So here is the lay out…

R1 will have 20 hosts, your network will be
192.168.1.32/27 (255.255.255.224)- First Usable .33, last usable .62 (.32 is network and .63 is broadcast)
R2 will have 20 hosts, your network will be
192.168.1.64/27(255.255.255.224) - First Usable .65, last usable .94 (.64 is network address and .95 is broadcast)
R1 to R2 Serial link will be
192.168.1.96/30 (255.255.255.252) - R1 IP will be 192.168.1.97/30 and R2 Ip will be 192.168.1.98/30

All airlines require that you have a current health certificate for interstate travel.

International travel is different, and it depends where you are going as to the requirements. For example, dogs cannot be flown from the US to the UK except in the hold, and must have a “pet passport”. Microchipping is required, and you must have a chip compatible with their readers, or bring your own.

Contact the air carriers you are considering and ask their requirements and fees. There should also be information available online for the country you’re planning to travel to.

Good luck!

Lexy is a cute name for the dog and bless you for giving her a chance!

I think an immediate trip to the Vet is an excellent idea. For one thing, they should be able to tell you if she is pregnant with a simple blood test called Relaxin. If you prefer, they can also do a routine abortion so you don’t have to deal with a litter, but that is a choice you need to be aware of.

If she is pregnant and you decide to go through with the litter, your Vet should be able to give you advice on what to expect. You should also do some research on whelping/rearing a litter and the Monks book mentioned below can help you with that. Getting all her shots and having her spayed should be a top priority.

A dog that has never been a member of the family and a house dog is going to present you with a few challenges but if you are dedicated to making it work you will do just fine.

I am going to recommend two books you can find at your library, www.amazon.com or even Ebay. They will help you make all the necessary adjustments. One is The Art of Raising A Puppy by the Monks of New Skete and the other is The Koehler Method of Dog Training by William R. Koehler.

Most people would walk away when it appears they may have to do some work. Lexy is one lucky girl! I’m sure you are going to do a great job with her. If you have other questions feel free to contact me. Good luck.

This will be difficult to figure out without some further diagnosis. The first thing to do is to take it into a dealership as all emissions or ignition problems are covered under warranty for at least 3 years or 60,000 kms. There are a lot of program revisions that can be downloaded into your trucks PCM for problems such as you describe. I am not saying for sure, but a lot of the really weird problems we used to encounter were repaired by GM releasing an updated program. There is also a possibility that you are experiencing an intermittent electrical connection or component problem that will eventually lead to a complete failure. A lot of these are very difficult to find unless the tech gets the truck to act up when he is looking at it. GM also releases bulletins that address issues like this in similar trucks so hopefully someone else has this and GM is aware of it and can fix it readily. Flushing injectors and changing fuel filters are always a good idea. I change the FF in my own truck about every 20,000 km. Adding a quality injector cleaner to your tank a couple of times a year is a great idea along with a yearly power flush. Good luck.

My favorite serviceperson is a Viet Nam Veteran and my brother. He, as did many of our generation, accepted the call of his country to defend freedom for people everywhere -not just the USA. He was 18 when he voluntarily joined the Marine Corps. He served in Viet Nam as a “tunnel rat”and used a flamethrower to do his job. He came home, like the rest of the Viet Nam vets , to derision by the American people. But, because of the sacrifices he made, along with all the other military personnel in our country’s history, we are able to live a peaceful life. He is now 63 years old, and a very patriotic American, proud of his service to his country, and would defend it still if needed.

I am proud that he loves freedom to live here in peace enough to gamble his very life for that cause—for you and for me! Semper Fi!

Why is there a Women’s Studies’ section but no Men’s?

Women’s Studies is an actual field of academia, just like geology or political science. Men have been the writers of history since the Babylonians approximately 8,000 years ago. Women were never truly represented in history and politics until recently. Discussion within this discipline was the intended purpose of this category of Yahoo Answers. As you […]

Women’s Studies is an actual field of academia, just like geology or political science. Men have been the writers of history since the Babylonians approximately 8,000 years ago. Women were never truly represented in history and politics until recently. Discussion within this discipline was the intended purpose of this category of Yahoo Answers. As you can see, many people came here looking to stir up hate and unfounded petty arguments.

Then, to appease the trolls, this section’s name was changed to Gender & Women’s Studies. This is ridiculous because it doesn’t really solve anything. The men who are genuinely searching for a place to share ideas have gone ignored, but the trolls who just want to spite women have been rewarded.

Yahoo Answers has reached a new low, and I sincerely believe that the whole thing should be scrapped and rebuilt.

Working class: How to save money on lunch/dinner when u r working?

Eat breakfast at home (as much as you like)… then, while at work, eat only what you NEED (in other words, if you can afford to eat only RM3.00 per meal, avoid overspending it on meals that costs you something like RM3.80!)… Bring your own water bottle (I know, it reminds you of primary school). Eat breakfast at home (as much as you like)… then, while at work, eat only what you NEED (in other words, if you can afford to eat only RM3.00 per meal, avoid overspending it on meals that costs you something like RM3.80!)…

Bring your own water bottle (I know, it reminds you of primary school). Unless your office comes with a water dispenser, its better to bring your own. If you have to go out for lunch with friends, then ais kosong or ’shui cha’ will be just fine.

I spend approximately RM3.50 a day for my meals. I hardly eat lunch and have a light dinner (unless mum makes something special for dinner… hehe).

This is just my personal view and what I’ve been doing all along. Of course, your needs may be different from mine. I’m usually on a high fibre, low oil diet… so you’ll probably imagine what my lunch plate looks like —steam/boiled vege, belacan chili and some tofu.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How do I Appeal my Financial Aid package?

Yes, you can appeal your dependency status to the school’s financial aid office. However, most cases are approved only in the case of a breakdown between you and your parents. If you are still in contact with them, have a good relationship with them, then odds are your appeal will be denied. And, there is no additional appeal process…the school’s decision is final. However, it never hurts to try as they just might approve it.

You didn’t say if you applied for financial aid (including student loans) by completing the application at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Even if you are required to apply as a depending student you still should be eligible for student loans which could cover most if not all of the $5,000 you are looking for. Make sure you look into this option.
